Popis: In Ecuador, artisanal alluvial gold mining is generally carried out on the banks of rivers, which brings with it a number of impacts on the environment that can be classified as negative, and among which is included the generation of effluents, the deforestation of primary forests, atmospheric emissions, the generation of polluting solid waste and the establishment of communities without sanitation services. Therefore, observations were made in some sites, as well as interviews and surveys, and from the information obtained, a SWOT matrix was elaborated, organizing the results in tables and bar graphs. In addition, a diagnosis of current waste management was carried out, where it was determined that it is inefficient, so that a design and proposal to improve waste management for artisanal gold mining companies in Ecuador was made. establishing metrics and indicators to control the development of proposals to improve solid waste management in the artisanal gold mining company.
