| Popis: | The authors review their experience with 8 fractures of the neural arch of the atlas. Six were classical “hangman's fractures,” and in 2 cases there were additional fractures of the arch of Cl. The two groups were similar in respect to mechanism of injury, paucity of neurological findings, therapeutic implications, and ultimate excellent prognosis. An explanation for the lack of neural injury is offered, and an approach to the radiologic diagnosis is outlined. |
