Popis: Vascular plants are invariably vulnerable to biotic agents including bacteria, fungus, viruses, and mites that are present in and above the soil and some of which are the root causes of major diseases. In reality, irreconcilability (resistance) is the norm in nature, whereas microbes (susceptibility) living alongside the host are an exception (Cézilly et al., 2014). The release of toxins that encourage cell death in the vicinity of the invading organism may aid a pathogen's ability to infect and takeover a compatible host.
