Popis: | It has been shown in experimental animals that an ileorectal valve incorporated into the operation of uretero-ileosigmoidostomy cannot be relied upon to prevent ascending urinary tract infection. However, a colorectal valve, not previously described, has been effective in preventing the development of a metabolic acidosis in piglets in whom this method of urinary diversion has been carried out. |
