Popis: The University of Colorado's Wardenburg Student Health Center is a beautiful, million-dollar edifice in the SRocky Mountains. The clinic nurse's day here is an eight-to-five holiday -no bedpans, no bed baths. Each nurse rotates every two weeks through halI-and-records, treatment room, shot room, and reception desk. At times, she relieves the fifth nurse who remains in the cold clinic to care for students with minor upper respiratory ilInesses. While acting as hall-and-records nurse, I am anchor woman for my four colIeagues. At my desk in the waiting area, I receive all incoming students. On a slow summer day, we may see only 14> on an average day about 150, and during epidemics nearly 400. First-comers are seen first and I make a tally chart for our six doctors to insure an even distribution of the work load.
