Popis: Streptomyces spp. were isolated via sampling during thermophilic phase of a compost system. Isolates were subjected to a careful and detailed sets of procedures in order to select best candidates effective on organic matter degradation. This effect, on organic matter degradation was illumanated by evaluation of composting experiments and metagenome analyses in accordance. Results indicated dominanace of strains when added to compost systems. This dominanace was found to be partially due to possible secondary metabolite production of isolates determined by antagonism tests. The dominance of strains was in fact distinctive in establishment of variant organic matter degradation. Enzymatic activity as a result of strains’ dominance was provided as an explanation based on evaluation of metagenomic counts. Metagenome count numbers revealed the tendency of compost microbiota towards degradation products of cellulose and xylan was also determined to be least favored polysaccharide. Results also implied a decrease of competition between the dominant strain and microbita members in the case of sequential cellulose and xylan degradation. Meticulous evaluation of results obtained from metagenome analysis also provided some insights on certain conditions regarding the progress of composting along with storage conditions of manure prior to use.
