Popis: | Familial benign chronic pemphigus (FBCP), or Hailey-Hailey disease, is an autosomal dominant genodermatosis that typically appears in the late teens or early twenties. Almost one third of patients have no family history of FBCP and are generally in good health otherwise. Although fungal and bacterial infections are considered precipitating or aggravating factors in FBCP,1,2 there is little information linking herpes simplex virus with exacerbations of FBCP.3-7 In fact, major dermatology texts do not mention this association. We describe a case of FBCP in association with eczema herpeticum and Staphylococcus aureus infection. |
