Popis: | In the absence of advanced clinical experiences for our students, our universities have produced graduates of physical therapy programs who are no more ready for clinical practice at the master's level than they would have been at the bachelor's level. By continuing to ignore the importance of clinical competence, we now face the danger of repeating the same mistake with the entry-level DPT. The person entering the profession with a DPT can be distinguished from other physical therapists only by academic title. While academic credentials have risen to the doctorate level, clinical expertise, it seems, has been ignored. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 1999;29(2):80–82. doi:10.2519/jospt.1999.29.2.80 |
