| Popis: | Nineteen patients with congenital spherocytosis who had been treated by splenectomy 6 or more years earlier were investigated. All were in excellent health. None were anaemic or showed evidence of increased haemolysis. Red-blood-cell survival was greatly increased after splenectomy. It was within the normal range in twelve patients and only just below normal in the other seven. |
