Popis: | A new and reliable sequential procedure for stabilization of a multimachine power system is proposed, The machines are represented by a linearized model including the excitation systems. By using modal analysis theory the response of the free system is obtained as a sum of modal terms, specifying the contribution of each mode on the response. A new measure of the influence of a stabilizing action, taking into account all the effects of a mode on the response, is used to identify the most effective unit to be equipped with stabilizer. After identifying one generating unit and applying its stabilizer the next unit is identified by considering the previously identified units with stabilizers. Application of the procedure is then made to show the efficacy of the approach in damping power system oscillations. |
