Popis: Wide variety of studies in vivo experiments on animals have been shown that the most effective type of ultrasound waves to accelerate fracture healing in osteotomy procedure is LIPUS. In this study the authors investigate the effect of LIPUS on mechanical properties of healed perforated bone. Twenty-four white male New Zealand rabbits that have drilled the right tibia bone of them were used. The rabbits were divided in two groups: treatment and non treatment. The non treatment group was considered as control. The treatment group was exposed to LIPUS (30mW/cm2 spatial and temporal average, for 20 minutes/day). All of rabbits were divided into three parts according to timing (two, four and six weeks post drilling).
