Popis: | Anomalies of the scrotum are uncommon. The most frequent malformations include bifid scrotum, scrotal ectopia and penile scrotal transposition. Congenital scrotal agenesis (CSA) is an extremely rare phenomenon, with only 3 cases reported in the worldwide literature. We report a case of CSA in an infant and review the current literature to identify possible congenital associations, diagnostic approaches and surgical reconstructive options. A MEDLINE search was performed for the period January 1965 to December 2003 using the National Center for Biotechnology Information PubMed Internet site. |
