Popis: | images the central area was of high signal intensity whilst the rim remained of low signal intensity (Fig. 2). Questioning elicited a history of mild pain in the region of the right hip for a period of several months. A radiograph of the pelvis demonstrated a thick sclerotic rim surrounding a central lucency, with no periosteal reaction. Minor degenerative changes were noted in the femoral head and acetabulum (Fig. 3). A computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed the above findings. A ~)')'"Tc-diphosphonate bone scan showed no abnormality during the vascular phase but raised uptake within the lesion on the delayed image. In view of the history of pain and the appearance on bone scan a biopsy was performed. |
