In patients undergoing thyroidectomy one of the goals of post-surgical follow-up is the correct manteinance of thyroid hormone levels by replacement therapy with levo thyroxine. Nevertheless, some patients complin of symptoms of hypothyroidism despite normal values of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). We aim to investigate by a proteomic approach the serum proteome profile of thyroidectomized patients with reduced or unchanged FT3 levels on LT4-therapy to demonstrate that the lower post-surgical FT3 levels could be associated with tissue hypothiroidism. |
