Forming-limit diagrams and strain-rate-dependent mechanical properties of AA6019-T4 and AA6061-T4 aluminium sheet materials

Popis: | The mechanical properties and formability behaviour of sheet materials depend on the deformation conditions. In this study, the variance of AA6019-T4 and AA6061-T6 aluminium sheet materials related to the strain rate of their mechanical properties was studied by applying uniaxial tensile tests on these materials at different semi-static strain rates (0.3 s(-1), 0.03 s(-1), 0.003 s(-1), 0.0003 s(-1), 0.00003 s(-1)). In addition, forming-limit diagrams of these materials were determined by applying Nakajima tests. When the results were analysed, it was found that the strain rate developed some mechanical properties in the AA6019-T4 and AA6061-T4 sheet materials and that the AA6061-T4 sheet material has a higher formability capability in comparison with the AA6019-T4 sheet material. |
