Popis: | The effect of nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), a possible substitute for phosphates in detergents, was studied on strains of Escherichia coli K-12. No mutagenic effect was observed, but inhibition of growth and recombinant formation with increasing concentrations of NTA occurred. Nitrilotriacetic acid also induced abnormal cell morphology and yellow pigmentation in colonies. |
