Aim: In this study, it is aimed to perform bibliometric analysis of publications titled Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using the science mapping method. Material and Method: The Web of Science Core Collection database was examined through the Bibliometrix program. Results: In the study, it was found that 4071 articles on CPR were published in 854 journals between 1980-2021. It has been determined that there has been a great increase in the annual article production since 2008 and the most articles were produced in 2020. It was observed that there were a total of 15 thousand different authors in all articles and an average of 7 authors were included in the studies. The most prolific author in terms of publications and citations is Prof. Robert A. Berg. It can be said that leading researchers are mostly pediatricians and of USA origin. “Quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation during out-of-hospital cardiac arrest” published by Lars Wik et al in JAMA in 2005 is the most influential study. The journal with the most articles on CPR is “Resuscitation” and the most cited journal is “Circulation”. It is seen that the USA, China, Japan and Korea are the countries that produce the most articles in this field. In terms of motor themes, while the keywords Norepinephrine, Equipment, Heart, Dogs, Catecholamines were in the forefront in the 1990s, today the keywords Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, ECPR, Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest, Extracorporeal Life Support Covid-19, Chest Compressions, Ecmo are used and these are considered to be current issues. Conclusion: Since the subject of CPR is of vital importance, the number of articles published in this field is increasing day by day. With this study, a missing point in the literature was eliminated and the bibliometric analyzes of the articles in the WoS database on CPR were made, and the process from 1980, when the first study was made, until this time, was revealed in all aspects. It is considered that the results of the study will facilitate and raise awareness for researchers interested in this field. In future studies, it is recommended to examine different databases such as Pub Med and Scopus. |
