| Popis: | Four patients suffering from lead intoxication due to consumption of illicitly distilled alcohol were given small doses of edetate calcium disodium (Calcium Disodium Versenate) and then subjected to peritoneal dialysis. The rate of deleading by dialysis exceeded significantly the rate of urinary lead excretion in each patient. In each patient, the administration of edetate calcium disodium induced an increase in the amount of lead recovered in the dialysate. |
