Popis: | ✓ In 21 hydrocephalic children with ventriculocardiac shunts, revision of the cardiac portion has been done through a lower neck incision and the new shunt tube introduced at the junction of the right internal jugular and brachiocephalic veins. This method of replacing a nonfunctional shunt is useful when scarring or occlusion of the jugular vein prohibits advance of the tube. The procedure is direct, is not unduly difficult, and permits secondary revision if required. |
