Popis: | International audience; We report calorimetric and acoustic experiments conducted on pure ethanol, in the temperature range around 80 – 180 K, where different solid-solid and solid-liquid transitions are observed. Using a versatile calorimetric experimental system, we have accurately measured the specific heat of the different phases, and also studied the phase transitions between them, the latter supported by complementary Brillouin-scattering experiments. The influence of several factors in the kinetics of crystallization vs vitrification is also shown and briefly discussed. |
