Popis:	A recent proposal that the genus Rymovirus be assimilated into the genus Potyvirus is examined, discussed, and rejected. It illustrates the danger of using 'sequence identity' as a proxy for phylogenetic relatedness to distinguish closely related but distinct groups of viruses.
