Popis: | 2-year-old Latin American boy from Honduras visiting the United States with his mother presented with a 2-day history of abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. He was febrile, with a temperature of 38.68C. He was appropriately developed for his age (weight 12.9 kg), and physical examination was unremarkable except for a diffusely tender abdomen. Hematology data collected included a white blood count of 12.3 3 10 3 cells/mL with 5% bands and 5% eosinophils, hematocrit of 35%, and normal serum electrolytes.
