Popis: | Purpose: The technique of rotundovaginopexy after cystectomy in females is described. Materials and Methods: Four cases, two of them with over 12 months of follow-up are presented in whom this technique was used. Results: Rotundovaginopexy stabilizes the vagina and thus prevents descent of the neobladder. Therefore the position of the neobladder is truly orthotopic. Thus continence and micturition are optimized. Conclusions: With this technique a truly orthotopic neobladder position can be achieved. The technique is simple to accomplish, even if hysterectomy has been performed long before. Pouchocele with possible complications such as secondary increased post-void residuals or incontinence may be avoided. |
