Popis:	The porphyrias are a group of rare or uncommon disorders which may only occasionally be seen in the average district general hospital. Therefore, the experience of laboratory statT performing investigations on samples from patients suspected of having porphyria will be extremely limited. We assessed this situation by distributing urine samples from known porphyria patients to nine laboratories participating in the Yorkshire Regional Analytical Committee.
