Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina to Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, French Guyana, Brazil (Atol das Rocas, Fernando de Noronha, Ceará, Paraíba, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul) (Anker 2012). Previous records. Locality not mentioned (Anker 2012). Remarks. Records of A. armillatus H.
