Popis: | The bilobed gallbladder, or vesica fellea divisa, is an extremely rare congenital anomaly in man. This malformation is represented by a structure having two separate fundic cavities, united at their bases and joined to the ductus choledochus by a single cystic duct. It is differentiated from the double, or accessory, gallbladder, called vesica fellea duplex, by the presence of independent cystic ducts, draining the individual fundic cavities of the latter type. Two distinct anatomical configurations of the bilobed gallbladder have been described. The first is that in which the body of the organ is completely or partially separated into two lobes by a deep cleft, resulting in a Y- or T-shaped viscus. The second form has a single fundus, divided into paired mucosal compartments by a longitudinal septum. In either instance the lobes may be of the same or unequal sizes (Fig. 1).
