Popis: | In order for magnesium to compete more effectively with aluminium in weight-sensitive wrought applications, the magnesium bulk alloy should, develop a naturally and spontaneusly protection alloy surface when exposed to the environment, for example by damage via scrtatch on the surface of an aircraft component, an ii) exhibit an enhanced plasticity relative to prior art by having an increased number to active crystal slip systems. Both attibutes require the manufacture of magnesium based solid solution alloys showing greatly extended solid solubilities without undue increase in density, toxicity or susceptibility to thermal descomposition as a result of alloying elements. |
