Popis: We have opened up data in the past either driven by the right/need to know, or pushed by the duty to share. What I would love to see in the future of open data is an approach which I call purpose-driven, like the one presented in the Third Wave of Open Data report by the Open Data Policy Lab. A perfect example of the implementation approach is the one of the #DatiBeneComune campaign by onData: it is time to treat data as a common good, like the “I dati che vorrei” reports highlight very well and precisely. Hand-in-hand with this approach, a data feminism lens can help us to identify the power that comes with data, challenge it, and change things for the better. All of this is in this set of slides, which I presented at the panel discussion on the future of open data at the University of Aberdeen during Open Access Week 2022.
