Popis: | A new assay for the evaluation of cell viability is described. It is based on the staining of dead cells and subsequently the whole cell population with ethidium bromide (EtBr). The method makes it possible to measure cytotoxic and cytostatic effects simultaneously and cell cultures grown both in suspension as well as by adherence may be assessed. The advantages and disadvantages of this assay are discussed. |
