Popis: This paper analyzes the discourse on the Amazon of Brazil's president Bolsonaro at the UN General Assembly in 2020. The objective is to observe how the region has been integrated into the federal political agenda and the discursive strategies marked by “disinformation" adopted by Brazil's chief executive. We use the three-dimensional assumptions of Critical Discourse Analysis. Brazil’s president promoted inaccurate data, made unfounded statements, victimized himself, and kept silent about negative information related to his management. He sought to promote a distorted view on environmental management and on the Amazonian reality, putting the effective protection of the region at risk.
