Popis: Objective: This study was carried out by evaluating the causes of death, distribution by gender and years, and histopathology of cases aged 65 and over who were autopsied by Aydın Province Adnan Menderes University Forensic Medicine Department between 2014-2019, raising awareness about the subject, and psychosocial factors needed in preventable deaths. It is planned to provide support and it is thought that this purpose will contribute to scientific knowledge. Materials and Methods: 190 autopsy data obtained as a result of retrospective examination of archive files in Aydın Adnan Menderes Faculty of Medicine, Department of Forensic Medicine, were analyzed with IBM SPSS V23 according to the relevant literature review and review. Results: It was determined that 138 (72.6%) of the cases were male and 52 (27.4%) were female. It was determined that the chosen suicide methods were found to be dead mostly in men and women, and traffic accidents were in the second place. Conclusion: The increase in elderly suicides can be interpreted as indicating that this population has difficulty in sustaining their lives on their own and that it is necessary to receive physical and psychiatric support in this regard. It is stated in the literature that most of the elderly deaths can be prevented with appropriate psychosocial support systems. It is foreseen that elderly deaths can be prevented to a large extent by taking precautions about preventable elderly deaths and informing the society, arranging the living conditions of the elderly population in a way that minimizes the risk of accidents.
