Maurizio G. Paoletti. (One specimen). Diagnosis. Small worms, 40���80 mm by 4���5 mm. Colour red-violet, paler on ventrum. Male pores on 15 small. Clitellum on ��29, 30���37 tubercles on 30���37. Nephridiopores aligned just above b. Two pairs of testes enclosed in 10 perioesophageal, and in 11 suboesophageal testis sacs. Vesicles in 9���12, those in 11 small, sometimes completely missing. Spermathecae five pairs, in 6/7���10/11. Remarks. This small Octodrilus species shows same clitellar positions as Oc. transpadanus, however differs from it first of all in the presence of red-violet pigmentation and the aligned nephridial pores.
