Popis: | Conspicuous spots lying just beneath the cell membrane away from the nutrient medium are described in cultures of isolated pulsatile heart muscle cells of the chick embryo. These spots are always absent in fibroblasts. In the electron microscope images, obviously, the main substance of the spots is lost, the remaining clear areas showing no particular structure. They are not delimited by a membrane from the immediately surrounding, denser cytoplasm in which stages in the development of striated myofibrils can be observed. |
