Popis: | We have measured multi-electron processes in collisions of He2+ ions on Na at 6 keV/amu impact energy with the MOTRIMS technique, in which a laser-cooled target is used for recoil ion momentum spectroscopy. Beside true single and double electron capture, processes involving ionization have been observed including the unexpected creation of Na3+ recoils. Impact parameter sensitive information has been obtained by comparing the measured transverse momenta with theoretical calculations. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. |
