Popis: | The effects of l-glutamate on the spontaneous release of [3H]GABA from cerebellar neurons in well characterized cerebellar monolayer cultures were investigated. The release process was dependent on Ca2+, elicited by neuronal depolarization and specific to l-glutamate. d-Glutamate and l-aspartate were without effect, and glutamic acid diethylester (GDEE) abolished l-glutamate stimulated 3H]GABA release, suggesting that this effect was mediated by glutamate receptors. |
