Popis: | Spatial Augmented Reality (AR) in the form of Projection Mapping is an interesting technology for several scenarios. However, there is a lack of rapid prototyping tools for Projection Mapping. We introduce ProjectAR, a rapid prototyping tool that combines everyday mobile AR devices, such as tablets, with regular projectors. ProjectAR supports easy projector calibration and provides a rapid prototyping environment through the mobile device. Low-fidelity sketches, text, and shapes can be used to create virtual assets. Designers can use ProjectAR as a Wizard of Oz tool to use these assets as part of an interactive Projection Mapping experience. We show the potential of ProjectAR for rapid prototyping and discuss its current limitations as well as future directions for supporting collaborative prototyping between designers and other stakeholders. |
