Popis: | Islamic culture and civilization; It is three-dimensional in terms of time, space and impact and is an important part of world history. Islam is a religion that encouraged the transition to settled life and urbanization. For this reason, with the birth and spread of Islam, a rapid urbanization activity has been experienced in the Islamic geography. While Islamic and Turkish cities were being established, the city was subjected to central planning and necessary legal, financial, economic and political measures were taken for this. The physical structure was shaped by the common will of the society and a city type emerged with its unique features. Here, Islam, which provides the common identity, is the common thought system and the understanding of life gained with Islam reflected in the urban fabric. In addition, the fact that the nations that accepted Islam had a close social structure and that the Islamic world was located on a certain zone, which did not differ greatly in terms of geographical conditions, positively affected the physical structure similarity observed between Islamic cities. During this urbanization process, the population of large cities has increased considerably. In this article, the architectural changes within the historical layers of the Islamic and Turkish city are discussed. While considering the Islamic and Turkish city, the architectural changes in the historical layers of the Islamic and Turkish cities from the past to the present are discussed. While discussing the Islamic and Turkish city, it has been associated with the city model and structure that differ from the past-present in the fundamental dynamics of civilization.
