Popis: The Philippines has drastically changed its methods in raising public awareness where fear appeals largely dominated health-related information regarding the threat of COVID-19. The role of self-efficacy roughly received enthusiasm with the current bodies of literature contextualized during the pandemic and only focused between threat and compliance. This quantitative study utilized Hayes’ simple mediation analysis in determining the relationship between the perceived threat and preventive health behaviors and the indirect effect of self-efficacy in that relationship among the chosen 321 Filipino citizens in NCR. Results showed that there is a significant relationship among the variables. Perceived threat, self-efficacy, and preventive health behaviors are positively correlated with each other. Further, the mediation analysis elucidated that the Filipino’s self-efficacy indirectly affects the perceived threat of the COVID-19 virus and the successful adherence to preventive health behaviors, whereas perceived threat does not directly affect such desired behavior
