Intraband and interband dynamics generating high-order harmonics in solids exhibit qualitatively different responses to driver-pulse ellipticity, enabling ellipticity-based harmonic cutoff extension. Ab-initio calculations and experiments demonstrate generation of circularly polarized harmonics from single-color pulses.
