Popis: [Extract] By any measure, J. R. Martin is a major figure in linguistics. A brief look at Martin’s impact quickly shows this. If quantitative measures are anything to go by, at the time of writing, his Google Scholar citation count is 46,579 with an h-index of 85, which puts him eighth in the world in terms of citations for the tag ‘Linguistics’ and third in the world for ‘Literacy’, with a number of those above him no longer active (or alive) .
