Popis: | The lateral soft-tissue film of the neck is a useful screening radiograph of the larynx. t Often discov ered in this radiograph are a number of well-known normal variants of branchigenic structures. In cluded are long styloid processes, calcified stylohy oid ligaments, and enlarged superior cornua of the thyroid cartilages. Most of these anomalies, as well as the unusually calcified laryngeal cartilages, have been confused with ingested foreign bodies." The following case report describes a calcification of the thyroid cartilage that was originally misinterpreted as an aspirated tooth. |
