Popis: | 1. The initial functional significance of the investigated cerebral structures during the performance of delayed spatial choice underwent appreciable changes during compensatory reorganizations evoked by multiple electrical stimulation of the frontal segments of the neocortex. Whereas prior to reorganization the greatest number of errors of choice arose during stimulation of the frontal cortex, hippocampus, and mediodorsal thalamic nucleus, after reorganization the parietal and occipital regions of the cortex proved to be most effective. 2. The obtained material confirms the principle of integrity in cerebral activity, insofar as the function of the frontal cortex disrupted by electrical stimulation was not replaced by the activity of any one region of the brain but was distributed between many component formations of the integral cerebral system. |
