Popis: In the poetry and poetics of Mina Loy the pleasure of the strolling female observer is central to a modernist project that entails the destruction of traditional poetic structures and language. Loy embodies the transition in mentalities between 19th century aesthetic practices and the rupture provoked by the formal experimentation in the 20th. In a significant numbers of Loy’s poems, she presents an urban landscape in which a female flaneur explores a space described as hallucinatory and erotically charged. The theme of spatial transgression reflects her desire as a woman and a poet to engage in the poetics tradition and to subvert it.
