Institutional repositories should carry the features of research information (RIS) and a performance evaluation system in addition to the existing features of IR. This provides a holistic perspective of institutions to their research ecosystems. IZTECH, believing in the transformation and development of IRs, started using GCRIS, Turkey's first and only IR and RIS at international standards, in 2021. Research outputs such as projects, awards, preprint publications, patents, and laboratory equipment have been added to the system, so IR content has been enriched, and all components in the research ecosystem have been made accessible. Everyone has equal access to all components through the technology and infrastructure facilities it uses. Thus, new collaborations, projects, and funding opportunities were created by increasing the institutions' and researchers' visibility. Studies are carried out to increase the research quality of the institution with the department and researcher-based academic performance evaluation system and advanced reports. As a result of the promotion and awareness visits made within the departments, the system received significant attention and support. Researchers started using the system actively, which has also been the primary source of strategic decision support for the university administration. |
