Popis: In this project, we are interested in whether people perceive groups that are composed of multiple minority groups (e.g., "people of color" as a group consisting of multiple subgroups) as more similar to each other than majority groups (e.g., White people). This work is an extension of research on the outgroup homogeneity effect, wherein people perceive outgroups as more homogeneous than their ingroups. In this study, we test whether this minority groups homogeneity effect is driven by perceptions of common fate among minority groups and whether perceptions of minority similarity are related to feelings of group status threat among White Americans.
