The Higher Level Technical Education scenario has undergone significant structural changes with the opening of public institutions (Chilean Law 20.910) as of 2018. This would imply a technical education offer that is closer to the productive sectors. This article analyzes the relationship between Supply (Vacancies), Demand (Enrolment) and regional economic activities (GDP–Employment) from 2013 to 2019. The methodology is quantitative in nature with a descriptive and explanatory scope achieved through statistical analysis of pairs of data from five Chilean regions: Tarapacá, Coquimbo, Maule, La Araucanía and Los Lagos. The results reflect that there is a relationship between Supply, Demand and productive sectors with greater strength in the regions of exclusive productive orientation according to GDP; The contraction of the private sector in the FTNS scenario is also evident from the positioning of the public offer. |
