Popis: Subcutaneous tumors were produced in hamsters injected with a well-known oncogenic serotype (CELO virus) of avian adenovirus, and with each of four new serotypes. All eight of the CELO virus-induced hamster tumors and two CELO virus-transformed rat cell lines carried the viral DNA. The calculated amount of viral DNA per diploid amount of cellular DNA varied from 0.95 to the unusually high number of 920. Two of the eight tumors carried only some parts of the viral DNA. Four different sizes of virus-induced early (or T-antigenic) proteins were immunoprecipitated with sera from the CELO virus tumor-bearing hamsters. The lots of sera had different spectra; from zero to four T-antigenic proteins could be precipitated.
