This study is replication of a previous study called ‘Dual framing in a campaign against child poverty’, which postulates that: (1) counterframes can produce powerful effects when applied in isolation in a message, (2) however a (minimal) reference to a problematizing frame can cause this effect to disappear, (3) and does so especially when it represents an idea that people do not spontaneously think of. We hereby refer to the original preregistration, accessible via: https://osf.io/dsaup/. After submission of the previous registration, we noticed an error in the sample size calculation, the number of planned regression analyses and exploratory analysis. This preregistration rectifies these errors. The rest of this preregistration remains unaltered. As of the date of resubmission, the data is being collected, but has not been accessed by the researchers. |
