71 HE purpose of this survey was to gather significant data from the case 1 histories of the oral carcinomas treated at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center during the past twenty-five years and to study and tabulate such findings as might contribute to the oral carcinoma problem. We selected cases of carcinoma of the tongue, floor of the mouth, buccal mucosa, hard and soft palate, and alveolar gingiva. Two hundred and three cases were studied. Data were collected relative to the patient’s age, race, sex, the location of the primary lesion, the chronological course of the disease, treatment methods, and outcome. Data were also secured concerning poss#ible contributing factors present in each case. |
