Popis: | To the Editor. —Vincent (Archives1982;39:673), in describing the problem of a 28-year-old woman who experienced headache during masturbation, stated that he could find no mention of this association in the literature. My report 1 (cited in two of the references used by Vincent) included three patients whose headaches were brought on by masturbation. The term coital cephalalgia is thus too restrictive, but orgasmic cephalalgia ignores the premonitory headache that may build up as sexual excitement mounts before orgasm. Benign sex headache (using "sex" in the popular sense) is an all-embracing, albeit unpoetic, term and is comparable with benign cough headache . It is worth emphasizing that neither condition is always benign. |
